Couples & Pre-MaritalCouples Counseling is not only for relationships in crisis. All relationships can benefit from the skills of communication, conflict resolution, and learning how to express our individual and relational needs that can be learned in counseling.
My approach in couples sessions is centered around Gottman and Emotionally-Focused Therapy to help couples restore emotional connection and trust in their relationship. We will quickly assess the dance between the partners within the first few sessions, identify and address underlying trauma and attachment history impacting each person's capacity for safety, and practice the skills necessary to repair and sustain connection. I recommend a 90 minute session for couples. Married couples can also inquire about short-term, marriage closure therapy to help discern if divorce if the right path for your relationship. *Inclusive to all genders and sexual orientations |
FamilyFamily sessions are typically 90 minutes and can include parenting coaching, child/adolescent sessions, or entire families. I view therapy goals in the context of a family system, treating the entire family as the therapy client. We will collaborate, use each family's strengths, and work together to heal and create healthy relationships.
